The MAP sensor monitors intake manifold pressure and sends that data to the ECM, which uses it to calculate fuel delivery and boost levels. If the stock sensor starts to fail, you may notice reduced power, poor fuel economy, excessive smoke, diagnostic trouble codes, and a check engine light.
